Cardano in 2025: new developments and projects

Cardano (ADA) is one of the most researched projects in crypto. Charles Hoskinson, one of the founders of Ethereum, built Cardano based on academic publications and meticulous updates.

The slow strategy

Cardano is known for its slow but meticulous approach. Compared to projects that launch quickly and fix things later (“Move fast and break things”), Cardano checks every upgrade thoroughly. Smart contracts arrived in 2021 – relatively late, but with proven code.

2024-2025 upgrades

Chang Fork in 2024 brought full governance to Cardano – ADA holders can now vote on protocol changes (like DAO). Voltaire Era – the realization of the complete decentralization vision. Hydra – a Layer 2 solution for Cardano that guarantees a million TPS.

The ecosystem

Minswap and SundaeSwap are leading DEXs. JPG Store is a leader in NFTs. DeFi on Cardano is growing but remains small relative to Ethereum and Solana. In Africa, Cardano develops digital identity and social projects.

Forecast
